Located in the Punta Carretas neighborhood, the Montevideo Howdy House is surrounded by restaurants, shops, other businesses, and some historical landmarks. It’s common to see people making their daily commutes on foot, as the walkable infrastructure and agreeable year-round climate make a great combination for pedestrians.

The house consists of three floors of offices, conference rooms, and lounges that overlook a beautiful golf course as well as parts of the nearly 14-mile-long coastal walkway known as the Rambla.

Inside the office, shared workspaces on two floors offer room for dozens of Howdy coders, designers, and engineers to work side by side. When groups need to discuss reporting, recruiting, or anything else, they use the large meeting room on the top floor. They also use the space for frequent virtual meetings with the other Howdy houses in LatAm and the US.

Smaller meeting rooms can be found on the top two floors of the office, providing a more efficient space for one-on-one meetings and interviews. These rooms are commonly used for weekly mentorship sessions, onboarding, training, and code review huddles.

However, it’s not all work and no play at the Montevideo Howdy House. The lounge area has several cozy spots to grab a snack or a caffeinated beverage (usually mate or coffee). In addition to the comfortable couches, there’s also a ping pong table for coworkers who want a friendly mid-day match.
